A repeated-letter worksheet rubric

Letter / word specimenBody height & zone balanceOval closure & openingJoin continuity & finish
Specimen sample 1 (e.g. word "today")Record x-height mm; note upper/lower extension ratiosCheck top of o, a: tight seal, open gap, or double loopIdentify continuous join, grouped syllable, or pen lift
Specimen sample 2 (e.g. word "light")Measure ascender height in l, h, t against body bandExamine middle loops in e, o: narrow slit vs open cupObserve terminal finish: level, rising, or hooked return
Specimen sample 3 (e.g. word "changing")Inspect descenders in g, y: loop breadth and depthVerify whether g-loop returns to baseline or hangs straightDocument rhythm: rapid simplification vs formal restraint

Choose one oval letter (a, o), one upper stem (l, t, h), and one lower descender (g, y). Record measurements across multiple words to isolate persistent motor habits from isolated mechanical slips.
