Learn the capital and small cursive T →
Capital T
- Draw the wide top bar from left to right at capital height.
- Lift the pen and draw the central stem down from the bar to the baseline.
Small t
- Start above x-height, draw the stem down, and curve right into a small foot at the baseline.
- Lift the pen and cross the stem at x-height with a horizontal bar.
Watch for this: A crossbar close to the baseline leaves the top of the small t unclear. Keep the bar on the x-height line, with the stem projecting above it.

Letter shapes, words and corrections
Write capital T
Draw a broad top bar, then a central stem down to the baseline.
Write lowercase t
Make a stem taller than the body band with a small lower turn, then add its crossbar.
Keep the form distinct
Compare t with l: t carries a crossbar and its upper extension is shorter in this model.
Practice t in words
Copy “time” and “letter”, leaving each letter separate. Circle the clearest t in the row and use its body size for your next attempt.
