Start with a clear capital and small print form. Follow the ordered strokes, then copy the letter without tracing.

Learn the capital and small cursive C →

Capital C

  1. Start near the upper-right corner and curve left across the top of the capital.
  2. Continue down the left side and around the bottom, stopping on the lower right with the opening still clear.

Small c

  1. Start near the upper-right edge at x-height and curve left over the top.
  2. Round the left side and bottom, then stop on the lower right without closing the opening.

Watch for this: Closing the right-hand opening turns c into an o-like oval. Stop the lower curve before it reaches the starting point; leave a visible opening on the right.

Write capital C

Curve from the upper right around the left side and finish at the lower right, leaving the side open.

Write lowercase c

Use the same open curve within the lowercase body band.

Keep the form distinct

Compare c and o: c needs an opening, while o closes its bowl.

Practice c in words

Print practice: clear and space.

Copy “clear” and “space”, leaving each letter separate. Circle the clearest c in the row and use its body size for your next attempt.
