Observation & reference
The traditional feature vocabulary
A reading begins with the page layout and recurring letterforms. Slant describes stem inclination, size describes the lowercase body, and spacing describes the open areas around the writing. Within graphology, those observations are paired with themes such as reserve, expression or concentration.
Read a repeated pattern
Compare several occurrences of a letter before following its interpretation. A capital at the beginning of a name can differ from the lowercase writing in the same sample. The graphology letter reference groups ovals, stems, loops, crossbars and ending strokes.
