Learn the capital and small cursive B →

Capital B

  1. Start at the baseline and draw up the left stem to capital height; curve right around the upper bowl and return to the middle of the stem.
  2. Lift the pen near the middle and curve around the larger lower bowl, returning to the foot of the stem.

Small b

  1. Draw the tall left stem downward from capital height to the baseline.
  2. Lift the pen, start on the stem just below x-height, and curve right around one small bowl before returning to the stem.

Watch for this: Putting the tall stem on the right reverses the small b into a d-like shape. Place the tall stem on the left first, then build the bowl on its right.

Write capital B

Write lowercase b

Draw a tall stem, then curve a single bowl to its right within the lower body band.
